TaiwanICDF and the Founding of the ICD Youth Club
Empowering Youth Collaboration for Global Development
The establishment of the International Cooperation and Development (ICD) Youth Club would not have been possible without the steadfast guidance and support of the International Cooperation and Development Fund (TaiwanICDF). From the earliest planning stages to the club’s official launch, TaiwanICDF has played an instrumental role in helping youth from international schools across Taiwan turn their ideas into action.
We sincerely extend our gratitude to the Secretary General, Deputy Secretary General, and all department heads and staff at TaiwanICDF for their invaluable assistance throughout this journey. Their mentorship and encouragement have shaped the foundation of our club and strengthened our commitment to advancing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through education, cooperation, and youth leadership.
From Inspiration to Action
Just before the Mid-Autumn Festival, students from several international schools met with TaiwanICDF to discuss how youth could contribute to assisting Taiwan’s allied nations. Inspired by this conversation, the ICD Youth Club at Taipei American School, led by President Annabelle Huang, took immediate action. Within only a few weeks, the club raised and donated NT$700,000 to support TaiwanICDF’s ongoing development projects for partner nations.
This milestone reflected not only the generosity of the students but also their determination to make a tangible difference. During the donation ceremony, Secretary General Dr. Charles C. Li presented the club with a TaiwanICDF work vest as a symbol of appreciation and partnership. He also shared that, during the Global Cooperation and Training Framework (GCTF) event in New York, representatives from like-minded countries such as the United States, Australia, and Canada expressed admiration for Taiwan’s youth-led engagement in international development.
A Shared Vision for the Future
Secretary General Li encouraged the students to continue their collaboration with TaiwanICDF and to work hand in hand with youth worldwide to build a sustainable and inclusive future. His words continue to inspire our club’s mission—to empower young leaders to act with compassion, creativity, and global awareness.
The ICD Youth Club stands as a living testament to what can be achieved when mentorship and youth ambition unite. With TaiwanICDF’s ongoing support, we are proud to continue expanding opportunities for young people to engage in meaningful, international cooperation that changes lives and strengthens global partnerships.
